I can’t either. While children have more sensitive hearing than adults neither of my two children (age 5 and 7) can hear from the pair we purchased. My son has a different earphone product that works beautifully. They have a volume control on the cord. I understand why that can be a problem, however, in our case, we have a useless pair of earphones.

Just purchased these to go with a SanDisk MP3 player for my 4 year old niece. They are a perfect fit for her little head and just the right level of sound comes out. Also, they are just adorable!

We bought these for our five-year-old daughter to use with a portable DVD player on a family road trip. The packaging touts the high impedance of these headphones as a “feature” but it made them too quiet for our daughter to hear most of her movies–even with the DVD player’s volume control turned all the way up.

Maybe we got a dud…but I bought some of these headphones at Target before a road trip & the sound quality is extremely poor. Our 5 y.o. finally just wanted them unplugged since the ambient road noise was drowning out the sound from the show she was watching. I suspect the volume regulation is set low in an abundance of caution against ear damage, but Sony went too low in this case.
