I ordered the Klipsch Image S4 over a month ago and AFTER ordering was sent a message that the company was out of stock, contrary to IN stock when I purchased them. I’ve received several retracted updates on progress and learned just today, that they hope my order will be filled at the end of July IF Klipsch really does ship stock.

This is the most LAME product launch since Windows XP.

I have read all the 5 Star reviews on amazon and CNET I said they look compelling ,lets try it and I was really disappointed.I want my money Back!,those eardbuds sound exactly like cheap headphones. So are those reviewers work for Klipsch company or what! these headphone has no bass at all..my ipod originals are much much better but they fall down ,I bought 5 different brands the best ones are the ipod originals and Bose eardbuds which doesn’t fall down from my ears.

My Shure E4c’s broke and I was looking for a cheap alternative. I read about this earphones on CNET and they praised the audio quality, saying that it matched those that were 2-3x their cost in quality.

    Boy were they wrong…

These are NOT pro-grade! They are absolutely horrible. My Sony earphones that came with my NWZ-A800-series MP3 Player sounds better! I expected a lot from a company like Klipsch. How can they release such a shoddy product?

The treble, mid, and bass all sound muddy. The bass overpowers the mid (somewhat fixable through EQ). It’s just not a good listening experience. I replaced the earbud with the custom one that I have for my Shure E4c’s (thinking it was the lack of airtight seal), but nope. It still sounds bad. I will be returning this ASAP and buying one of the Shure SE-series.

    AVOID THIS PRODUCT!

My V-Moda Vibe earbuds broke so after reading the CNET review for these Klipsch earbuds, I ordered them right away. While I loved the shape and fit, the sound quality was horrible. It was like listening inside a tin can. I should have known given the carrying case is a tin can. I just returned them and will order another set of V-Moda Vibe earbuds as soon as the refund comes through. The Vibes were recommended a few years back by a salesperson at the downtown SF Apple Store. He said they were better than Bose and many of the higher end earbuds and he was right. My only complaint was durability. The wires at the base eventually shorted out leaving no sound in one earbud. Hopefully my new set will be more durable.

My professional and personal experiences (over 37 years) more than qualifies me to grade these ear plugs “poor”.

Horrible frequency response with little or no bass. Some mid-range frequencies are very weak and the high end is not realistic.

I contradicted my own rules when I purchased these “without” hearing them. I based my bias strickly on the reviews and man was I fooled. If I didn’t know better I would think these reviews were written by Amazon or Klipsch employees.

I have a cheap pair of Sony MDR- EX56LP ear plugs that I use when I mow that sound much better than the S4s.

I thought some of the bad reviews were from perpetual complainers, believe me they’re not. I wouldn’t buy these headphones at any price.
