I purchased a pair of these based on your recommendation in Singapore two weeks ago and they began playing up on the flight home to Australia. Within 2 weeks I contacted the Australian distributor to find out my warranty would not be honored as I purchased them outside Aus.

Unless I wanted to return them to SG for repair, I was stuck with a dud set of headphones. Needless to say I was not at all happy and as always it was false economy, should have bought the Bose and got a true international warranty.

Very sad as I always thought of Denon as a trusted brand. Shameful!

I purchased these headphones mainly because of the brand name – I’ve owned several other Denon audio products over the years (CD player, reciever, cassette player) and they were all excellent. This product is a disappointment. I made a direct comparison with my wife’s Sennheiser PXC 250 NC headphones, which cost roughly half the price of the Denon at Amazon: the Sennheiser were far superior for sound quality, especially noticeable for improved treble response. Another problem with the Denon if you use them whist walking, jogging or running is that with the noise cancellation on, you get a “thud” in your ears each time your foot hits the ground! Some kind of feedback effect? This defect is not a problem with the Sennheiser, perhaps because the electronics is located in a wand unit attached to the cord instead of the headphones themselves. Although some may find the wand inconvenient, it does seem to give a better result.

In short, I returned the Denon and replaced them with the Sennheiser!

The noise canceling feature is not great. Plus the headphones are made of cheap plastic.

    But otherwise, they are comfortable.

I bought this from Amazon on sale for $150 before a long plane trip. I had been regularly using ear buds which were fine but I wanted to try something that would cancel noise better.

The Denons DID NOT do the trick. When I had them on I could hear engine noise almost as well as I could with my bare ears. Listening to music I could easily hear the people around me talking at normal voice levels.

I went back to my buds and they were actually better.

I am returning these to Amazon. I am a very good customer of theirs so I hope they will give me a refund.

Needless to say, I don’t recommend you buy these.

Great headphones, with excellent sound quality and comfort! I read reviews and tested several products from Bose, Sennheiser and several other companies, and decided on Denon because of the overall quality and value. Without a doubt, one of the best electronics purchases I have made in recent years. Denon AH-NC732 Active Noise Cancelling Headphone
